This story, albeit very short, was written again in a creative writing workshop (big surprise!!).  The assignment was to write in third person limited, and I struggled with it and secretly cussed out my instructor several times.  And I also think I re-wrote this story about fifty times before I turned it in.  My instructor gave me great constructive criticism and I finished it and started sending it out to journals all over.  This one was picked up around Christmas time (seeing a trend here?).
